Postpartum Belly Slimming: Effective Methods for Losing Excess Belly Fat

October 18, 2023

After giving birth, new mothers often find that their bodies are not as proportioned as they were before pregnancy, especially with excess belly fat. It can be difficult to lose this weight, especially with limited time for exercise. So what can be done to address this issue? Below are some postpartum belly slimming methods.

Postpartum Belly Exercises

Deep Breathing for Belly Slimming

When the body receives sufficient oxygen, blood circulation becomes smooth and cells become active. Upon waking up in the morning, lie in bed and take deep breaths through the nose, holding the air in the chest. While exhaling, keep the chest in its position and contract the stomach. Repeat this exercise 3 to 5 times every morning to achieve a slimming effect on the belly.

Simple Chair Exercises for Belly Slimming

Sit on a chair and contract your entire abdominal region. Keep both knees facing forward while sitting on the front half of the chair, with legs apart. Take deep breaths, fully contracting the stomach. Repeat this exercise 3 to 5 times to enhance abdominal muscle strength.

Walking Massage for Belly Slimming

While walking, place your palms against your belly and massage in a clockwise circular motion. Massage for 15 minutes every day to reduce excess belly fat.

Side Lying Exercise for Belly Slimming

When watching TV, lie on your side with your head resting on your elbow. Ensure that your body is straight from head to toe, and lift the belly upwards with force while contracting the hips. Keep the pelvis on the ground and maintain a contracted stomach. Breathe evenly to exercise the lower abdominal muscles.

Bathing for Belly Slimming

Before taking a bath, apply a layer of hot compress cream on the belly (avoid using during menstruation). Wrap the belly tightly with plastic wrap for 20 to 30 minutes. Perform hula hoop movements for at least 10 minutes, then remove the plastic wrap and take a warm shower.

Diet Tips for Postpartum Belly Slimming

Cook Food Thoroughly

If food is not cooked thoroughly, starch cannot be properly digested and accumulates in the large intestine, producing carbon dioxide and causing excess belly fat.

Eat Healthy Foods

Fermented dairy products can activate essential substances for digestion, improving the intestinal microbial system and preventing abdominal obesity. Fresh fruits and vegetables promote the elimination of waste and toxins from the body, resulting in a flatter belly.

Practice Moderation in Eating

Although postpartum women need to replenish nutrients, it is important to practice moderation in eating, especially at night when metabolism slows down. Overeating during this time will lead to fat accumulation. By consuming low-calorie, healthy meals and maintaining this habit for a period of time, a noticeable flattening of the belly can be achieved.

Drinking Tea for Belly Slimming

Certain teas can effectively prevent obesity and help postpartum women reduce belly fat. These teas contain a high amount of dietary fiber, which is not easily digested and provides a feeling of fullness, reducing food intake. Additionally, these teas can burn fat due to their rich content of vitamin B1, which fully burns fat and converts it into heat energy. Drinking three types of tea regularly can help slim the belly.

Black Tea

Black tea is fermented by black fungus, which produces a substance called "Pu'er" during fermentation. This substance inhibits the accumulation of belly fat. For effective weight loss with black tea, it is best to drink freshly brewed strong tea. Aim to drink 1.5 liters of black tea each day, one cup before and after meals. By persisting with this routine, noticeable belly slimming effects can be achieved.

Eucommia Tea

Eucommia tea promotes the metabolism and calorie expenditure of collagen protein, which is essential for connecting cells. It also accelerates the synthesis of other proteins, reducing the accumulation of neutral fat in the body and resulting in weight loss. Eucommia tea also has anti-aging and strengthening effects. Consistently drinking this tea will lead to noticeable belly slimming.

Oolong Tea

Oolong tea is semi-fermented and contains little vitamin C but is rich in minerals such as iron and calcium. It also contains enzymes that aid digestion and break down fat. Drinking a cup of oolong tea before and after meals promotes fat breakdown, preventing abdominal obesity caused by excessive fat intake.
