The difference between laser lipolysis and liposuction

September 30, 2023

Laser lipolysis and liposuction are both common local weight loss procedures, both have slimming effects, but there are differences in weight loss principles, weight loss effects, etc. Here's a look at what specific differences there are between the two again.

The size of the incision is different

Laser lipolysis: no incision is needed, and the incision is only 1-2 mm.

Traditional liposuction: trauma in the range of 0.5-1.0 cm.

Different fat reduction principles

Laser lipolysis: using fat locator to accurately locate the deep fat layer, then injecting lipolysis solution into the deep fat layer, so that the subcutaneous fat tissue can be dissolved quickly, and then using a special laser, after computerized digital positioning, to irradiate the obese parts outside the body for several minutes, so as to dissolve the body fat and discharge it out of the body.

Traditional liposuction: Inject expansion fluid, usually saline, into the fatty area, mash the fat particles with brute force, and then suck out the damaged fat particles through negative pressure.

The pain level is different

Laser lipolysis: the procedure is almost painless and the postoperative pain is low because the incision is small and anesthetic is injected during the procedure.

Traditional liposuction: relatively more painful, mainly soreness and swelling, but the intensity is tolerable.

Different skin flatness after surgery

Laser lipolysis: capable of dissolving and absorbing out the fat accumulated in the deeper layers, while finely sculpting the superficial fat, which can avoid the phenomenon of unevenness after the operation.

Traditional liposuction: uneven liposuction during the operation, or too much liposuction at a single point, which can easily lead to uneven skin conditions.

Different recovery time after surgery

Laser lipolysis: the swelling can disappear in about 1 week, and the recovery time is 1-2 months.

Traditional liposuction: stitches can be removed in 7 days, swelling can be eliminated in 2 weeks, and the best slimming effect can be achieved in 3-6 months.

Different price range

Laser lipolysis: more expensive, generally in the range of 8,000-15,000 yuan, suitable for local small area excess fat.

Traditional liposuction: relatively cheap, generally in 2000-8000 RMB, suitable for local obesity.
