Understanding and Preventing Menstrual Pain: Five Diseases to be Aware of

Many people believe that menstrual pain is a normal physiological phenomenon, but according to gynecological experts, there are five diseases that can also cause menstrual pain. It is important to take preventive measures early.

1. Endometriosis

This condition is more common in women aged 28-40, where the endometrium grows outside the uterus.

Under the influence of ovarian hormones, the endometrium proliferates and bleeds. As the menstrual blood cannot flow out of the body, it stimulates the surrounding tissues, causing uterine contractions or tissue fibrosis, leading to menstrual pain.

The pain associated with endometriosis lasts longer (possibly the entire menstrual cycle or even after the period) compared to regular menstrual pain, which is usually premenstrual.

If lower abdominal pain occurs after a clean period, it is a typical symptom of endometriosis.

2. Uterine fibroids

This condition is more common in women over 40, especially those who have had multiple pregnancies or abortions.

3. Cervical or uterine adhesions

This condition is more common in patients with repeated abortions or uterine tuberculosis.

4. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease

Persistent lower abdominal pain that can radiate to the lower back, sometimes accompanied by a feeling of rectal fullness.

5. Reproductive tract abnormalities

Mechanical obstruction, such as excessive anterior tilt of the uterus or vaginal septum, can hinder the flow of menstrual blood, leading to menstrual pain.

Treatment for menstrual pain

[Ginger, jujube, and Sichuan pepper soup]

25g ginger, 30g jujube, and 100g Sichuan pepper.

Peel and wash the ginger, remove the jujube pits, and put them together with the Sichuan pepper in a clay pot. Add 1 and a half bowls of water and simmer over low heat until there is about half a bowl of liquid remaining. Strain the soup and drink it.

Take one dose daily. This soup has the effect of warming the body and relieving pain. It is suitable for cold-type menstrual pain and also benefits the skin.

[Red wine stewed apples]

Peel 400g apples, put them into a pot, and pour in red wine until the apples are submerged. Stew over medium heat for 15 minutes, then turn off the heat.

Let the apples soak in the red wine for another two hours before consuming. Honey or sugar can be added according to personal taste.

This stewed apple in red wine promotes blood circulation and relieves discomfort during the menstrual period.

Preventive measures for women

1. Exercise regularly

Engage in regular exercise to strengthen the body.

Maintain a healthy and positive mindset and help them understand some physiological knowledge.

2. Develop good hygiene habits

Pay attention to hygiene during the menstrual period. Maintain a regular lifestyle and balance work and rest.

Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive fatigue during the menstrual period.

Ensure a well-balanced daily diet, with a good mix of meat and vegetables to provide comprehensive nutrition and improve resistance.

3. Pay attention to diet

Ensure sufficient sleep. Avoid consuming cold and stimulating foods during the menstrual period, as they can disrupt blood circulation. Nutrition should be balanced to support proper physical development.
