The Enemies of Beauty: Alcohol, Salt, and Unhealthy Foods

December 23, 2023

Beauty is the nature of women. Which woman doesn't want to have a beautiful appearance? So they always try their best to do skincare and beauty treatments. However, they often overlook the damage to their skin caused by their lifestyle and diet. Here are three types of food that are the enemies of beauty-conscious women.

First, alcohol is the enemy of beauty.

Alcohol is almost an essential part of modern socializing, even for women who are fascinated by "this drink." But do you know that alcohol is the enemy of skincare and beauty? People who drink alcohol often wake up the next morning with a greasy face. This is because alcohol causes blood vessels to dilate, sending a large amount of blood to the sebaceous glands. As a result, the sebaceous glands produce more oil than usual. If you drink alcohol for a long time, the blood vessels on your face are always in a dilated state, causing redness; frequent alcohol consumption can also enlarge the sweat pores, causing premature aging, roughness, and wrinkles on the skin, affecting beauty. Therefore, for the sake of beauty, especially for young women, they should weigh the pros and cons before drinking alcohol.

In addition, excessive drinking can damage organs such as the heart, brain, and liver, leading to malnutrition and metabolic disorders. It can also cause high blood pressure, heart disease, and chronic liver diseases. Some people have found that alcohol has a more severe impact on the brain. Therefore, it is advisable to drink less or not at all.

Second, excessive salt intake can damage your appearance.

Salt is an essential substance for human survival and development, both in daily life and in agricultural production. However, excessive salt intake is harmful. An average person should consume about 10 grams of salt per day. If you consume excessive salt for a long time, it not only affects physical and mental health but also damages your appearance.

Excessive salt intake causes the contraction of small arteries, increasing vascular resistance. Over time, it can lead to arteriosclerosis, affecting the supply and nourishment of nutrients to the skin. At the same time, excessive sodium ions from salt enter the plasma and tissue fluid, increasing the burden on the heart and kidneys. Over time, it can lead to heart and kidney diseases, making the complexion appear dull, dark, and wrinkled prematurely, giving the appearance of aging. Therefore, it is advisable to consume less salted meat and pickled vegetables, and avoid using excessive salt in cooking.

Third, foods that are not beneficial for skincare and beauty.

Coffee, tea, chocolate, soda, candy, baked flour foods, and ice cream: They can take away the moisture needed by the skin, making the skin appear aged. Foods containing caffeine can cause mental tension and accelerate aging.

Alcohol: It can destroy vitamins.

Shellfish: Oysters, shrimp, and crabs have high iodine content, which can cause skin rashes and itching.

Fried foods: They are difficult to digest and can reduce the body's self-cleaning function. Saturated fats in fried foods can cause obesity.
