Many women experience a cold after their period because during menstruation, women lose a certain amount of blood and their hormone levels change, which naturally weakens their immune system. To make, first wash the tangkuei, steam it until soft, and then slice it thinly. Wash the red dates and remove the pits. Wash the astragalus as well. Put the tangkuei, red dates, and astragalus together in a clay pot and cook the soup. After the soup is cooked, add the fresh chicken egg (without the shell) and cook for another 5 minutes. You can drink the soup and eat the egg. This remedy can be taken twice in the week before menstruation, especially suitable for women who are generally weak and prone to dizziness.

Take 30 grams of tangkuei (preferably the head or body), 15 grams of ginger, 15 grams of astragalus, and 250 grams of fresh lamb. To make, first wash the tangkuei, steam it until soft, and then slice it thinly. Cut the ginger into thin slices and wash the fresh lamb and cut it into small pieces. Put all the ingredients in a stew pot and stew them in water for 1 and a half hours. Then season the soup and eat the meat. This remedy is especially suitable for women who have anemia and light menstrual flow, and can be consumed more before menstruation.
If you catch a cold after your period, it is important to seek timely treatment and not delay it. The treatment for a cold after menstruation can combine medication and dietary remedies. For medication, you can use 12 grams of chaihu, 10 grams of jade bamboo, 9 grams of balloon flower, 6 grams of mint (added later), 9 grams of black soybeans, 9 grams of skullcap, 9 grams of pinellia ternata, 3 slices of ginger, 3 white scallions, 6 grams of roasted licorice, 2 red dates, 12 grams of perilla leaf, 9 grams of white peony root, and 9 grams of codonopsis root. Boil them and take the decoction repeatedly.
Gelatin and Lean Pork Soup
Take 10 grams of gelatin, 10 grams of codonopsis root, 10 grams of goji berries, 3 white scallions, and 50 grams of lean pork. To make, first crush the gelatin. Wash the lean pork and cut it into small pieces. Put the gelatin, lean pork, codonopsis root, and goji berries into a clay pot and cook the soup. When eating, you can add salt for seasoning. This can be taken 2-3 times in the week before menstruation, especially suitable for women with heavy menstrual flow.
