Proper Care for Girls' Reproductive Health and Breast Development

December 10, 2023

In order to prepare for their own health and the reproduction of the next generation, girls need to take proper care of their reproductive organs and breasts after entering puberty.

1. External genitalia care

The female vagina is the passage for menstrual discharge, the receptor for intercourse, and the pathway for delivering babies, so special attention should be paid to hygiene.

Because the female external genitalia structure is more complex and has many folds, it is more prone to dirt and contamination. In addition, the vaginal opening is close to the anus, making the vagina prone to contamination. Moreover, the vagina often has secretions, so special attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the external genitalia, especially washing hands before using the toilet.

It is important to regularly clean with warm water, paying attention to the dirt and greasiness near the labia minora and clitoris. It is best to wash once in the morning and evening during menstruation, but it is not advisable to take baths to prevent ascending infections. Synthetic underwear is not breathable and can easily cause odor or vulvitis and vaginitis. Therefore, it is advisable to wear loose and breathable cotton underwear. Pay attention to not wearing underwear that is too tight and avoid using scented products to prevent skin allergies. At the same time, develop good habits and avoid alcohol, smoking, and drugs.

More and more people are beginning to realize the importance of regular routine check-ups for their own health. However, when going to the hospital for a check-up, do you know how to cooperate with the doctor and make the most accurate diagnosis? Do you have enough knowledge and preparation in advance?

2. Breast care

During the puberty of females, the earliest and most obvious secondary sexual characteristic is the development of breasts and rapid body growth. Breast development is often the most prominent starting point for the development of adolescent girls.

During puberty, girls will first notice the development of nipples on their chests. With the development of mammary glands, fat and blood vessels increase, causing the entire breast to become full and this change can be seen from the appearance. At the same time, the brown areola around the nipple gradually expands, and the breasts fully develop. Approximately 80% of girls do not have fully developed breasts until the age of 16-19.

In addition to being influenced by hormones, the development of breasts is also greatly affected by genetic factors. Another characteristic of breast development is that in the early stages of development, one breast may be significantly larger than the other. As development progresses, they gradually become of equal size or approximately equal. After the basic development of the breasts, girls should wear bras in a timely manner.

Wearing a bra can provide support and lift to the breasts, promote blood circulation in the breasts, facilitate breast development, and protect the nipples from abrasion and pain. It also provides warmth in the autumn and winter seasons. You should choose a bra of the appropriate size that feels comfortable without feeling tight or restrictive. It should also be changed according to changes in body weight. Do not wear bras that are not suitable just to pursue a beautiful figure.

The material of the bra should be soft and absorbent, and it should be washed and changed frequently to maintain cleanliness. Take off the bra when sleeping at night. Many women feel breast swelling and nipple tenderness before their menstrual period, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. Generally, it will disappear after the menstrual period.
