Autumn Weight Loss: 5 Soup Recipes to Shed Pounds

Lotus Root Pork Rib and Coix Seed Soup

Ingredients: 500g pork ribs, 500g lotus root, 10g coix seed, soy sauce, salt, and MSG to taste.

Instructions: Wash and cut the pork ribs into pieces. Peel and wash the lotus root, then slice it thinly. Soak the coix seed in warm water for a while. Add an appropriate amount of water to a pot, and put in the pork ribs, lotus root, and coix seed. Stew for two hours until the lotus root becomes soft. Add salt, soy sauce, and MSG to taste, and simmer for a while before serving.

Effect: Coix seed helps with water retention and swelling, and invigorates the spleen and removes dampness. Lotus root aids in digestion and relieves diarrhea, helps reduce edema, and promotes detoxification. Drinking lotus root pork rib and coix seed soup in autumn has good weight loss effects.

Seaweed Pork Rib Soup

Ingredients: 15g seaweed, 150g kelp, 500g pork ribs, salt, and MSG to taste.

Instructions: Wash the seaweed and kelp. Cut the kelp into shreds or slices. Add an appropriate amount of water to a pot, and put in the pork ribs and kelp. Stew for 2 hours until the ingredients are soft and tender. Add the seaweed and simmer for a while before adding salt and MSG to taste.

Winter Melon Coix Seed and Pork Bone Soup

Ingredients: 1 pork bone, 250g winter melon, 20g coix seed, ginger slices, spring onion, and salt to taste.

Instructions: Soak the coix seed in advance. Wash the pork bone. Add water to a pot, just enough to cover the pork bone. Once the water boils, remove the pork bone and discard the blood water. Put the bone back into the pot, pour in boiling water, add spring onion, ginger, and coix seed, and stew for about 2 hours on low heat. Then add the winter melon slices, stew until soft, and season with salt.

Effect: Winter melon helps with water retention and swelling, while coix seed eliminates dampness. Combining the two with pork bone has great weight loss effects.

Watercress Tofu Soup

Ingredients: 75g watercress, 200g soft tofu, ginger slices, and salt to taste.

Instructions: Wash and chop the watercress. Cut the tofu into cubes. Add water to a pot and bring to a boil. Add ginger slices and tofu, and simmer on low heat for ten minutes. Then add the chopped watercress and cook for another 2 minutes.

Effect: Watercress has the effects of clearing heat, detoxification, diuresis, and reducing swelling. Tofu is rich in plant-based protein. Consuming both can help with whitening and weight loss.

Tomato Meat Soup

Ingredients: 250g tomatoes, 250g celery, 200g lean pork, ginger, and salt to taste.

Instructions: Wash and prepare the celery and tomatoes. Wash the lean pork and cut it into slices. Add water to a pot, then add the pork, celery, tomatoes, and ginger. Boil on high heat for ten minutes, then simmer on low heat for one and a half hours. Finally, add salt to taste.
