Niuxi Danshen Wine: Traditional Chinese Medicine for Nourishing Qi and Blood

Niuxi Danshen Wine, from "Shengji Zonglu", a traditional Chinese medicine wine that nourishes Qi and Blood, dispels wind and dampness, and treats foot odor. It is commonly used for conditions such as foot numbness and weakness in winter, inability to flex or extend the joints, numbness and tingling of the skin, swelling and fullness of the hands and feet, or stiffness in the lower back and legs.

  Niuxi Danshen Wine

【Ingredients】

  250g each of Niuxi, Danshen, Yiyiren, and Sheng Dihuang, 150g each of Wujia Pi, Shengjiang, and Baizhu, 120g each of Cizi (fried), Bixie, Chifuling, and Fangfeng, 180g each of Duhuo and Shihu, 90g each of Yinyuye, Guixin, Tianxiong (fried), Renshen, Chuanxiong, and Shinanye (roasted), 60g each of Xixin and Shengma, 500g of magnet (calcined and soaked in wine for seven times), and 5,000ml of white wine.

【Preparation Method】

  Grind the first 22 ingredients finely, put them in a cloth bag, place it in a container, add white wine, seal it (do not let it breathe), and let it soak for 7 days before using.

【Effects】

  Nourishes Qi and Blood, dispels wind and dampness, warms the meridians and dispels cold, relaxes tendons and promotes blood circulation.

【Main Treatments】

  Foot odor, weakness and numbness in winter; inability to flex or extend the joints, numbness of the skin, swelling of the joints of the hands and feet, or swelling of the limbs, stiffness in the lower back and legs.

【Administration】

  Oral administration: Take 10-20ml on an empty stomach each time, 5 times a day, ensuring a continuous intake of the wine. For those who do not drink alcohol, take a small amount frequently, but do not exceed the appropriate dosage.

【Introduction of Medicinal Ingredients】

  Baizhu: It has the effects of invigorating the spleen and replenishing Qi, drying dampness and promoting diuresis, stopping sweating, resolving phlegm, and calming the fetus. It is used for spleen deficiency with poor appetite, abdominal distension, diarrhea, phlegm retention, dizziness, and palpitations.

  Fangfeng: It is used to dispel wind, relieve the surface, dispel dampness, relieve pain, relax spasms, and relieve itching. It is used to treat wind-cold type colds, headache, body aches, facial paralysis, rheumatism, sudden limb spasms, abdominal pain and diarrhea, intestinal wind with bleeding, wind sores and scabies, itchy skin, and tetanus.

  Fuling: It has the effects of promoting diuresis and relieving dampness, invigorating the spleen, and calming the mind. It is used for edema with reduced urine output, phlegm retention, dizziness, spleen deficiency with poor appetite, loose stools or diarrhea, restlessness of the mind, and palpitations.

  Chuanxiong: It promotes blood circulation, relieves Qi stagnation, dispels wind, and relieves pain. It is used for chest pain, chest and rib pain, sprains and contusions, irregular menstruation, amenorrhea with pain, abdominal pain with masses, headaches, and rheumatic pain.

  Danshen: It is mainly used to invigorate blood circulation, resolve stasis, calm the mind, promote the discharge of pus, and relieve pain. It is used to treat angina pectoris, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, excessive bleeding, mass accumulation, blood stasis abdominal pain, bone and joint pain, insomnia and palpitations, and abscesses and swelling.
