The Chan Method: Rapid Thumb Technique for Throat Health and Healing

February 10, 2024

The frequency of the One Finger Zen technique is increased to more than 200 times per minute, known as the "Chan method". The practitioner naturally bends the index, middle, ring, and little fingers, forming a clenched fist shape, with the thumb exerting pressure on the treatment area. The shoulders are relaxed, the elbows are lowered, and the wrists make small back and forth swinging movements, which in turn drive the rapid flexion and extension of the thumb joint. The frequency is 200 to 250 times per minute. It has the effects of clearing and benefiting the throat, promoting lung function, promoting blood circulation and eliminating stasis, and dispersing toxins. It is mainly used to treat sore throat, hoarseness, mastitis, and scalp sores and other surgical abscesses and swellings.
