According to the theory of meridians in traditional Chinese medicine, there is a method of external treatment that uses various techniques such as pushing, holding, rubbing, rolling, kneading, and shaking to achieve the purpose of dredging meridians, regulating organ functions, and promoting health. This method is simple, effective, and particularly effective in orthopedics, such as cervical spondylosis, soft tissue sprains, shoulder periarthritis, tennis elbow, tendon sheath inflammation, lumbar disc herniation, sciatica, and various bone hyperplasia. It is also effective for various diseases in internal medicine, gynecology, and pediatrics, such as hypertension, gastrointestinal diseases, angina, asthma, rheumatism, frostbite, irregular menstruation, pediatric indigestion, malnutrition, enuresis, etc. Below are six methods of health massage:
Method 1: Eye Rubbing
In the early morning, rub both hands together until they are hot, place them on the eyes, and repeat 5 times. Then lightly press the eyeball with the index and middle fingers for a moment. This method helps to nourish and brighten the eyes.
Method 2: Ear Massage
Press the ear holes with both palms and release them suddenly, repeating this 20 times. Then use the thumb and index finger to massage the auricle from top to bottom 30 times, and finally massage the earlobe 30 times. The ear will feel warm. This method helps to clear the mind and refresh the spirit.
Method 3: Brow Massage
Use the back of the thumb joint to massage both eyes, from the eyebrows to the brow ridge. Do this 30 times until there is a slight soreness. This method helps to refresh the mind and improve eyesight.
Method 4: Abdomen Rubbing
Place one palm on the abdomen, and stack the other palm on the back of the hand. Rub the abdomen in a clockwise direction, then in a counterclockwise direction, for 30 circles each. This method is best done before bedtime and after meals. It helps to invigorate the spleen and stomach, promote digestion, and calm the mind.
Method 5: Back Pounding
Stand with legs apart and relax the whole body. Half-clench both hands and let them naturally hang down. Rotate the waist and alternately pound the back and lower abdomen with the fists. Start from bottom to top, then from top to bottom. Rotate the waist left and right while pounding. Do this 60 times. Alternatively, sit or lie down with arms crossed and placed under the head. Another person can use half-clenched fists to pound and strike the back from top to bottom, with a degree of vibration without pain. Each strike from top to bottom counts as one time, do this 60 times. This method helps to nourish the kidneys, strengthen the waist, promote the flow of qi and blood, and promote smooth meridians.
Method 6: Foot Rubbing
Use the left thumb to massage the Yongquan acupoint on the sole of the right foot, and vice versa. Repeat this 60 times until there is a warm sensation on the soles of the feet. This method helps to regulate the liver, calm the mind, promote sleep, invigorate the spleen, and strengthen the body.
