1. Liver and Kidney Deficiency

Clinical Manifestations: Dull pain in the lower abdomen during or after menstruation, sensitive to touch, light menstrual flow and pale color, dizziness and tinnitus, sore lower back and weak legs, occasional hot flashes, clear and long urine, dull complexion, pale tongue with thin coating, and thin and deep pulse.

Diet Therapy Recipe: Goji Berry Stewed Rabbit Meat: 15g goji berries, 250g rabbit meat, seasoning to taste. Put goji berries and rabbit meat in water, simmer until cooked, and then add seasoning.

2. Qi and Blood Deficiency

Clinical Manifestations: Dull pain in the lower abdomen during or after menstruation, light menstrual flow and pale color, fatigue, dizziness, palpitations, insomnia and vivid dreams, pale complexion, pale tongue with thin white coating, and weak pulse.

Diet Therapy Recipe: Ginseng and Angelica Lamb Stomach: 6g ginseng, 15g angelica, 10g cistanche, 250g lamb meat, 150g lamb stomach, 10g fermented black beans, scallion, salt, and wine to taste. Boil ginseng, angelica, cistanche, and fermented black beans for 20 minutes, remove the residue and keep the juice of about 80ml. Chop lamb meat into minced meat, mix with the medicinal juice, scallion, salt, and wine, stuff it into the lamb stomach, seal it, and steam for 2-3 hours.


3. Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis

Clinical Manifestations: Abdominal distention and pain before or during menstruation, pain in the sides, breast tenderness, irregular menstruation, dark and clotted menstrual blood with reduced pain after the passage of blood clots, exacerbated or triggered by emotional stress, dark purple tongue with petechiae, and wiry or wiry and hesitant pulse.

Diet Therapy Recipe: Blood Stasis Relieving and Pain Stopping Congee: 20g salvia, 10g peach kernel, 12g allium macrostemon, 10g cyperus rotundus, 100g polished rice, and appropriate amount of brown sugar. Boil the first 4 ingredients for 20 minutes, remove the residue and keep the juice, add polished rice, and cook into congee. Add a little brown sugar when it is cooked and ready to eat.

4. Cold Congealing and Blood Stasis

Clinical Manifestations: Cold pain in the lower abdomen before or during menstruation, aggravated or triggered by cold, reduced pain with heat, reduced menstrual flow with dark color, aversion to cold and cold limbs, pale complexion, dark red tongue, white coating, and deep or tight pulse.

Diet Therapy Recipe: Ginger Brown Sugar Soup: 50g brown sugar, 20g fresh ginger, 10 jujubes. Boil brown sugar and jujubes for 20 minutes, then add fresh ginger and simmer for another 5 minutes.

5. Damp Heat Accumulation and Blood Stasis

Clinical Manifestations: Burning pain in the lower abdomen before or during menstruation, pain radiating to the lower back and sacrum, mild abdominal pain normally but aggravated before menstruation, heavy menstrual flow or prolonged menstruation, dark purple menstrual blood with clots, increased vaginal discharge with yellow and foul-smelling, low-grade fever, yellow and red urine, red tongue, greasy yellow coating, and slippery or rapid and slippery pulse.

Diet Therapy Recipe: Heat-Clearing, Dampness-Transforming, and Pain-Stopping Congee: 10g chuanlianzi, 30g coix seed, 15g motherwort, 100g polished rice, and appropriate amount of rock sugar. Boil the first 3 ingredients for 30 minutes, remove the residue and keep the juice, add polished rice, and cook into congee. Add a little rock sugar when it is cooked and ready to eat.


Precautions

To induce early menstruation: Eat less spicy food, less meat, less onion, onion, and green pepper, and eat more green vegetables.

To delay menstruation: Eat less cold food and eat more meat. Two days before menstruation, eat stir-fried chicken liver or pork liver with ginger.

Before menstruation: For irritability, constipation, and lower back pain, eat a large amount of raw green vegetables, tofu, etc., to regulate discomfort.
