Understanding Breast Hyperplasia: Symptoms and Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

February 15, 2024

Breast Hyperplasia is a common disease in women, but it is often overlooked because of its common occurrence. It is important to understand its symptoms and learn how to treat it with traditional Chinese medicine in order to prevent worsening of the condition.

Breast Hyperplasia

Breast hyperplasia refers to the benign hyperplasia of the mammary ducts, lobules, epithelial cells, and fibrous tissue in the breast.

The main clinical features are periodic exacerbation of breast pain and multiple breast lumps.

Symptoms of Breast Hyperplasia

1. The most obvious symptom of breast hyperplasia is pain, which can be sharp or throbbing. This symptom is particularly pronounced before menstruation, and can be so severe that it becomes untouchable;

This pain tends to alleviate after menstruation, but it can also occur when the person is angry or feeling down. Therefore, maintaining breast health is also important for maintaining a good mood.

2. The second symptom is lumps. Breast hyperplasia can cause single or multiple lumps in the breast, which can change with the menstrual cycle. They become larger and harder before menstruation, and can be tender to touch. After menstruation, they return to their original state.

Treatment of Breast Hyperplasia with Diet Therapy

1. Mix cactus and alum together, crush them and apply the mixture to the affected area of breast hyperplasia. After it dries, rinse it off.

This can be used from the onset of breast hyperplasia, and it has a very good effect.

2. Wash bitter gourd, loofah, and dandelion thoroughly, then put them in a pot and boil them in water. Drink one dose daily, once in the morning and once in the evening, for two consecutive days.

3. Boil tangerine peel and licorice root together in a pot. Take one dose daily, in the morning and evening.

Dietary Considerations for Breast Patients

1. Coffee

Coffee is a favorite for many people. Having a cup of coffee can help stay awake and improve mental alertness, especially during late nights and overtime work. However, coffee contains a large amount of xanthine, which is a major cause of breast hyperplasia. Therefore, people with breast hyperplasia should try to avoid this type of food as much as possible.

2. Honey

Honey not only has beauty and skincare benefits, but also improves blood composition and promotes cardiovascular health. However, for breast diseases, honey is not as good. Honey contains estrogen, and excessive consumption can exacerbate breast hyperplasia.

3. Alcohol

Excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, especially high alcohol content drinks such as white wine and spirits, should be avoided. Red wine contains resveratrol, which has estrogen-like effects, so it is also not suitable for people with breast hyperplasia.

4. Stimulants

Stimulants refer to foods that are particularly likely to induce or exacerbate certain diseases, such as pork head meat, dog meat, mutton, and crabs.
