Why are people with a cold constitution more prone to cancer?

People with a cold constitution often have a tough time during winter. Not only do they have cold hands and feet, but they also experience symptoms such as cold uterus pain, stomach cold pain, and are more susceptible to cancer. A cold constitution can cause great harm! So, can we change our cold constitution? How can we improve our cold body condition?

Why are people with a cold constitution more prone to cancer?

There are mainly two reasons: First, people with a cold constitution usually have a weakened immune system, making it difficult to effectively resist the invasion of toxic substances and clear toxins from the body, creating a favorable condition for the development of tumors. Second, people with a cold constitution generally have slower blood circulation, which makes it easier for blood stasis, phlegm turbidity, and qi stagnation to combine and accumulate. Prolonged exposure to toxins can lead to the formation of tumors.

According to traditional Chinese medicine theory, a cold constitution is caused by excessive internal yin qi, which weakens the body's ability to digest and absorb nutrients, resulting in reduced heat absorption. People with a cold constitution often experience the following symptoms: cold hands and feet, sensitivity to cold, easily catch colds; fatigue, edema, pale lips, white tongue coating; loose stools, frequent diarrhea; light-colored urine, frequent urination, large volume; poor appetite, food tastes bland, etc.

Clinical studies have found that compared to people with other constitutions, individuals with a cold constitution have a significantly higher risk of cancer if they have poor lifestyle habits. For example, long-term smoking increases the risk of lung cancer; not paying attention to drinking water hygiene and consuming spoiled food increases the risk of stomach cancer. If individuals with a cold constitution have long-term liver qi stagnation, such as pent-up anger, high stress, and depression, males are more likely to develop nasopharyngeal cancer, kidney cancer, and liver cancer; whereas females are more prone to breast cancer, cervical cancer, etc.
