Causes of Early Menstruation

1. Qi deficiency

Early menstruation is related to Qi deficiency. For example, women who have high work pressure and are often exhausted are prone to spleen deficiency, which can lead to Qi deficiency. Some women also have poor dietary habits, which can also cause Qi deficiency. People with Qi and blood deficiency often have weak spleen function, resulting in early menstruation.

2. Blood heat

People with blood heat are also prone to early menstruation. There are various causes of blood heat, such as excessive Yang Qi in the body. Eating spicy and stimulating foods or excessive consumption of tonics can also cause blood heat. People with blood heat have accelerated blood circulation, leading to early menstruation.

3. Organic lesions

Early menstruation may also be related to organic lesions, such as inflammation of the reproductive organs, such as vaginitis, endometritis, and uterine fibroids. Certain tumors or underdeveloped reproductive organs can also cause early menstruation.

Prevention of Early Menstruation

1. Dietary care

Avoid eating raw, cold, sour, and spicy foods. Drink plenty of water and maintain regular bowel movements. People with blood heat should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and avoid spicy foods. People with Qi and blood deficiency should increase their nutrition intake, such as milk, eggs, soy milk, pig liver, spinach, pork, chicken, and lamb, and avoid eating raw and cold fruits.

Diet for Early Menstruation

1. Medicinal diet:

Lotus stem and cypress drink: Take 300g of fresh lotus stem, 100g of cypress leaves, mash and extract the juice, add appropriate amount of rock sugar, and drink it with warm water twice daily for 3-5 days before menstruation.

2. Food therapy:

Take 500g of dried celery, add 1000ml of water, decoct and extract 500ml of juice, and take it regularly for significant therapeutic effects. Take 50g of loofah seeds, 30g of prickly airdried, decoct in water, and add appropriate amount of white sugar for oral administration.

3. Prescription:

10g of moutan bark, 10g of dioscorea hypoglauca, 15g of raw rehmannia root, 15g of white peony root, 12g of wormwood, and 10g of coptis chinensis.

If there is severe dry mouth and thirst, add Radix Codonopsis and Rhizoma Anemarrhenae to clear heat and generate fluids; if there is excessive menstrual flow that does not decrease for several days, add Rhizoma Coptidis, fried gardenia, cypress charcoal, and donkey-hide gelatin to clear heat and stop bleeding.
