Ways Unmarried Women Can Develop Genital Inflammation Beyond Sexual Intercourse

December 11, 2023

Generally speaking, unmarried women are less likely to suffer from inflammation of the genital organs, but this is not absolute. Because pathogenic bacteria can invade the genital organs not only through sexual intercourse and intrauterine surgery, but also through other means. The following are common ways:

1. Poor lifestyle habits such as bathing during menstruation are common causes. Because the resistance is lower during the menstrual period, soaking the lower body in water can allow pathogenic bacteria in the water to enter the genital organs through the vagina. Swimming during menstruation can make it easier for bacteria in the water to enter the vagina and then the uterus, fallopian tubes, causing inflammation.

2. Unclean fingers or dirty instruments used for masturbation may be contaminated with pathogenic bacteria, and may even carry sexually transmitted pathogens such as gonorrhea and chlamydia. When using these dirty objects to massage the clitoris or insert into the vagina, it is possible to introduce bacteria into the body, leading to inflammation.

3. Other diseases, such as appendicitis, are the most common. If the treatment is delayed and the appendix becomes suppurative, the inflammatory exudate can flow into the pelvic cavity, causing salpingitis. Acute enteritis can cause pathogenic bacteria in the intestinal tract to spread to the genital organs through the lymphatic vessels, causing genital inflammation. The bacteria of pulmonary tuberculosis can enter the pelvic cavity through the bloodstream; in the case of intestinal tuberculosis, the bacteria can directly invade the genital organs, causing genital tuberculosis.
