Women have two natural barriers in their vagina: the outer labia that partially close the "gate" and the secretions that make the vagina acidic, preventing the invasion of pathogenic bacteria.
These two natural barriers help keep the vagina clean. However, the anatomical position of the vagina makes self-cleaning very difficult: it is connected to the cervix internally, connected to the perineum externally, and adjacent to the urethra and anus.
Therefore, if girls do not understand or neglect the cleanliness and hygiene of the vagina and its surrounding organs, it is easy to develop the following types of vaginitis:
1. Vaginitis in young girls: commonly seen in young girls wearing open-crotch pants. The cause of the disease is that the girl sits on the ground or crawls on the ground while playing, or directly inserts her fingers into the vagina, or even inserts foreign objects, contaminating the external genitals and vagina, and causing vaginitis.
The main symptoms include redness and swelling of the external genitals, watery discharge from the vagina, and burning or unbearable pain in the vagina. To treat vaginitis in young girls, simply wash the vagina and external genitals with pepper water or a powder called "Liu Yi San" (containing talc and licorice). Satisfactory results can be achieved.
To prevent this, girls should not wear open-crotch pants. They should wear loose-fitting closed-crotch pants and educate them on hygiene, not to touch the vagina with hands or foreign objects, and wash the perineum for girls every night.
2. Vaginitis during a girl's first menstruation: The first menstruation in adolescent girls is called "menarche". Due to their shyness and vague understanding of menstruation, they often do not understand or pay attention to menstrual hygiene, and they may use unclean sanitary paper, causing contamination of the external genitals with unclean sanitary paper and menstrual pads, and allowing bacteria to breed and invade, leading to menarche vaginitis.
The characteristic symptoms of this type of vaginitis are a feeling of heaviness and burning in the perineum, increased vaginal discharge, and even purulent discharge. Due to the overflow of vaginal discharge, the urethral opening is irritated, resulting in frequent urination and painful urination. Patients can wash the vaginal opening and external genitals before going to bed, wipe them dry, and gently insert a clean finger to push a "Jie Er Yin" suppository into the vagina. It has a good anti-inflammatory effect and will not damage the hymen.
3. Tight pants vaginitis: As the name suggests, this type of vaginitis is caused by women frequently wearing tight-fitting triangle underwear that wraps around the buttocks and tight-fitting sportswear. In recent years, some beauty-conscious girls often like to wear tight-fitting clothes that reveal their body curves. These pants are tight-crotch, tight to the buttocks, made of synthetic fabrics that are dense and non-breathable, making it difficult for vaginal secretions and sweat to dissipate, which is conducive to bacterial reproduction and causes vaginitis.
The main symptoms are excessive vaginal discharge, itching in the vagina and labia, accompanied by symptoms of frequent urination, urgency, and urinary tract irritation. To treat this type of vaginitis, first, do not wear synthetic fabric tight pants, but switch to cotton underwear and loose-fitting pants. Wash the external genitals every night, take ciprofloxacin, furazolidone, and vitamin C, or take traditional Chinese medicine such as Fuyanbao.
