How to make:
1. Tear apart the cabbage and remove the stem. If using Chinese cabbage, there is no need to remove the stem, just tear it apart.
2. Boil water in a pot. After the water boils, blanch the cabbage leaves for a moment until they become soft. Remove the leaves from the pot and drain the water.
3. Place the pork filling in a large bowl, add an egg, soy sauce, vinegar, chicken essence, pepper, monosodium glutamate, and oil for seasoning. If the mixture feels not sticky enough, add some cornstarch and mix well for about ten minutes to fully incorporate the seasoning.
4. Take the blanched cabbage leaves and spread them out. Use a spoon to scoop some pork filling onto the leaves, then roll them up. Be sure to seal all sides tightly to prevent the soup from leaking out. The rolled pork filling usually has a rectangular shape.
5. Place the rolled pork filling on a plate. Generally, one plate can hold six rolls. Steam them in a steamer for 20 minutes. The time should not be too short to ensure that the pork filling is fully cooked. During the steaming process, you can prepare the sauce.
6. Wash the ginger, garlic, chili, and scallions that have been prepared in advance. Chop the garlic and scallions into small pieces, and cut the ginger into thin slices.
7. Prepare a bowl of cornstarch water and dilute it with soy sauce to enhance the color.
8. Heat the pan and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add scallions to fry until fragrant. Then add chili, ginger slices, and garlic. Pour in the previously prepared ginger water and bring it to a boil. Then turn off the heat.
9. By this time, the pork filling should be cooked. Take it out and directly pour the prepared sauce over the cabbage. The aroma will make you deeply intoxicated, and it is ready to be eaten.
