Dietary therapy for arthritis

1. Sanqi and Danshen Congee

First, we need about 15 grams of Sanqi. Then, we need about 15-20 grams of Danshen and 30 grams of Chicken's Blood Vine, which should be washed. Add an appropriate amount of water to boil and extract the essence. Then, cook 300 grams of glutinous rice with water to make congee. When the congee is almost ready, add the medicinal juice. Remember to drink it once a day.

Effect: Promotes blood circulation, removes blood stasis, and improves blood flow in the meridians.

2. Sanqi Stewed Chicken

Take one male black chicken, 6 grams of Sanqi powder, and 10 grams of Huangqi. Put the Sanqi and Huangqi in a cloth bag and sew it up. Place the bag inside the chicken's abdomen. Then, add 10 ml of Huangjiu (yellow wine) and stew the chicken over low heat until the meat is cooked. When eating, dip the chicken in soy sauce. Eat it once every other day. This is very helpful for arthritis.

Effect: Warms and tonifies yang, strengthens qi, and relieves pain. Suitable for those with deficiency of yang qi.

3. Pork Kidney Congee

Take a pair of pork kidneys, wash them and slice them. Add 6 grams of ginseng, 10 grams of walnut meat, and 200 grams of glutinous rice with an appropriate amount of water. Cook them together to make congee. Take it as desired, once a day.

Effect: Dispels wind and eliminates dampness, tonifies kidney qi. Suitable for those with deficiency of kidney qi.

4. Fangfeng Congee

Take 12 grams of Fangfeng and two cleaned green onions. Add an appropriate amount of water and simmer the herbs. Then, take 60 grams of glutinous rice to cook congee. When the congee is almost cooked, add the medicinal juice and cook it into a thin congee. Take it as breakfast, once a day.

Effect: Expels wind and eliminates dampness. Suitable for those with wind-damp obstruction.

5. Peach Kernel Congee

Take 10 grams of peach kernels, wash them and mash them into a paste. Add water and remove impurities. Cook them with 30 grams of Coix Seeds and 100 grams of glutinous rice to make congee. Take it as desired, once a day.

Effect: Tonifies qi, promotes blood circulation, and unblocks the joints. Suitable for those with deficiency of qi and blood stasis, and joint obstruction.
