Understanding Ovarian Cysts: Symptoms, Remedies, and Risks

March 15, 2024

Ovarian cyst is a problem that many women will encounter, and the pain after suffering from it is very intense. For women, the ovaries are very important. What are the symptoms of ovarian cysts? Today, I will talk about the symptoms of ovarian cysts, the remedies for treating ovarian cysts, and the dangers of ovarian cysts.

Symptoms of Ovarian Cysts

Lower abdominal discomfort

It is the initial symptom before the patient feels the lower abdominal mass. Due to the weight of the tumor itself and the movement of the tumor within the pelvic cavity due to intestinal peristalsis and changes in body position, it can cause a dragging sensation or bloating in the lower abdomen or the iliac fossa.

Increased abdominal circumference and abdominal mass

This is a common phenomenon in the patient's complaint. The patient realizes that their clothes or belts feel tight and then notices an increase in the size of the abdomen. In the morning, they may accidentally feel it themselves and discover a mass in the abdomen, accompanied by bloating and discomfort.

Abdominal pain

If the tumor does not have complications, it rarely causes pain. Therefore, abdominal pain felt by ovarian tumor patients, especially when it occurs suddenly, is often caused by torsion of the tumor pedicle or rupture and bleeding or infection of the tumor. In addition, malignant cysts often cause abdominal and leg pain, and the pain often leads patients to seek emergency treatment.

Menstrual disorders

In general, ovarian cysts, even bilateral ovarian cysts, do not cause menstrual disorders because they do not destroy all the normal ovarian tissue. Some uterine bleeding is not of endocrine origin or caused by changes in the distribution of pelvic blood vessels due to ovarian tumors. Menstrual disorders caused by endocrine tumors often occur with other secretory effects.

If these symptoms occur, women need to be cautious about the condition of their ovaries and whether there are any adverse reactions. In daily life, there are many remedies that can help alleviate some of our physical ailments. Here are three remedies for ovarian cysts that I have compiled for everyone to learn about.

Remedies for Ovarian Cysts

Remedy 1 for Ovarian Cysts

Method: Boil hawthorn in water for about 500ml, remove the residue, and add soaked black fungus. Simmer until soft, then add brown sugar. Can be taken 2-3 times, finish in 5 days, and can be taken continuously for 2-3 weeks.

Effect: Promotes blood circulation, eliminates stasis, invigorates the spleen, and nourishes the blood. Suitable for uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and irregular menstruation.

Remedy 2 for Ovarian Cysts

Method: Peel 40g of Chinese yam and cut it into thin slices about 10cm long. Wash 30g of walnuts. Remove the claws from 1 clean hen (about 1500g), split it open along the back to remove the head and neck bones (keep the skin), blanch it in boiling water, and wash off any impurities. Place the hen belly down in a soup bowl, add 50ml of yellow wine, a suitable amount of refined salt, 1000ml of fresh broth, Chinese yam, walnuts, 25g of water-soaked shiitake mushrooms, 25g of sliced bamboo shoots, and 25g of sliced ham on top of the chicken. Steam in a steamer for about 2 hours until the hen is tender and then remove. Serve as a side dish for a meal.

Effect: Tonifies qi, invigorates the spleen, promotes blood circulation, and resolves stasis. Suitable for uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and cases of qi deficiency and blood stasis.
