Qingmuxiang, Chinese medicinal name. It is harvested in spring and autumn, the roots and sand are removed, and it is dried in the sun. It is mainly produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and other places. It is used to treat dizziness, headache, chest and abdominal distension, snake and insect bites. However, Qingmuxiang is slightly toxic, so it should be used with caution.

Common prescriptions of Qingmuxiang
1. Treatment for enteritis, abdominal pain and diarrhea
Qingmuxiang three qian, Binglang one qian five fen, Huanglian one qian five fen. Grind into fine powder. Take six fen each time, dissolve in boiling water and take orally. (Modern Practical Chinese Medicine)
2. Treatment for heatstroke and abdominal pain
Qingmuxiang root (fresh) three to five qian. Mash and extract the juice, warm it with boiled water and take orally; or take one to two qian of Qingmuxiang root, grind into powder, and take it with warm water. (Jiangxi Herbs)
3. Treatment for hypertension
Qingmuxiang root (fresh) two liang. Decoct in water and take orally, with brown sugar as an adjuvant. (Jiangxi Herbs)
4. Treatment for snake bites and fecal poisoning

5. Treatment for toothache

6. Treatment for stomach pain (superficial gastritis)
Take 10 grams of Qingmuxiang, squid bone, Diyu, and hawthorn, and 5 grams of Yanhusuo. Decoct in water and take orally. Take it for three consecutive days.

7. Treatment for acute cholecystitis
Take 10 grams of Qingmuxiang, Bai Shao, Chai Hu, Huanglian, and Ze Xie, 2 grams of Da Huang, and 6 grams of Zhi Ke. Decoct in water and take orally. Take it for three consecutive days.
8. Treatment for children's indigestion (3-10 years old)
Take 3 grams of Qingmuxiang and yiyiren, 5 grams of malt, Huai mountain, 2 grams of Ji Nei Jin, Shen Qu, biandou, and Gan Cao, and 1 gram of Sha Ren and Bai Mu. Decoct in water and drink instead of tea.
Dosage and usage of Qingmuxiang
Take 3-9g orally. Take 1.5-2g of powder, dissolve in boiling water and take orally. Use appropriate amount externally, grind into powder and apply to the affected area.
Contraindications and side effects of Qingmuxiang
1. Slightly toxic
Folk medicine uses it to treat abdominal pain. In clinical practice, it is also used in small doses to treat stomach pain and abdominal pain. Nausea and vomiting may occur with slightly higher doses.
Long-term use may lead to kidney toxicity. Therefore, it is rarely used to treat hypertension. The National Medical Products Administration has canceled its medicinal standards.
2. It should be used with caution by those with weak constitution and coldness, and should not be taken by those with weak stomach.
