Diet therapy for gastritis

1. Nourishing Yin and Stomach Soup

Composition: 15g of sand ginseng, 12g of Ophiopogon japonicus, 15g of Polygonatum odoratum, 12g of Rehmannia glutinosa, 15g of Paeonia lactiflora, 10g of licorice, 12g of Dendrobium nobile, 10g of Chinese toon, and 3g of Pinellia ternata.

Add pollen if thirsty. Add 20g of white snake tongue grass and 15g of dandelion if burning sensation in the stomach. Add 10g of Japanese plum, 12g of papaya, and 12g of hawthorn if low acidity. Add 15g of Chinese honeylocust and 12g of cassia seed if constipation. Add 12g of Chinese date and 12g of hemp seed if poor appetite. Add 15g of barley sprout and 10g of green plum flower if reduced food intake.

Main treatment: Chronic gastritis is characterized by pain in the stomach area, noisy burning sensation, loss of appetite, dry mouth with desire to drink, shiny or less coating or cracked tongue, and thin or thin and tense pulse.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, it is liver and spleen yin deficiency and stomach yin deficiency.

2. Clearing Heat and Stomach Soup

Composition: 10g of Scutellaria baicalensis, 12g of Forsythia suspensa, 20g of Isatis tinctoria, 6g of Coptis chinensis, 15g of white snake tongue grass, 15g of Paeonia lactiflora, and 30g of dandelion.

Add 3g of Evodia rutaecarpa, 12g of Sepia esculenta, and 12g of calcined pottery heliotrope if acid reflux.

Main treatment: Chronic gastritis is characterized by burning sensation and pain in the stomach, bitter and dry mouth, noisy hunger or acid water vomiting, dry and hard stool, red and thin coating or thin yellow coating on the tongue, and tense pulse.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, it is stagnation of middle energizer and stomach invasion by pathogenic heat.

3. Activating Blood and Regulating Stomach Soup

Composition: 30g of Salvia miltiorrhiza, 10g of Santalum album, 6g of Amomum villosum, 10g of Typha angustifolia, 10g of Acorus tatarinowii, 12g of Cyperus rotundus, 12g of Chinese toon, 12g of Asarum heterotropoides, 12g of Chinese blackberry, and 10g of Pteris multifida.

Add 20g of white snake tongue grass and 30g of dandelion if accompanied by stagnation of heat. Add 20g of Codonopsis pilosula and 12g of Atractylodes macrocephala if accompanied by qi deficiency.

Main treatment: Chronic gastritis is characterized by stomach pain, or stabbing pain, fixed pain, dark red or purplish bruise on the tongue, coarse and long blue veins on the bottom of the tongue, and stagnant and unsmooth pulse.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, it is stagnation of liver and spleen qi with blood stasis. Stagnation of qi easily leads to stasis, and blood stasis often involves qi. In diagnosis and treatment, it is important to distinguish the primary and secondary factors of qi stagnation and blood stasis, and flexibly use drugs that regulate qi and blood.
