February 25, 2024

Chili peppers are loved by many people nowadays. Eating chili peppers in cold weather feels refreshing. What are the taboos of eating chili peppers? When eating chili peppers, we need to consider our own physical condition. There are some people who should not eat chili peppers.

1. Weak digestive system

Chili peppers contain a lot of capsaicin, which can irritate the digestive system and may cause gastrointestinal diseases. For example, if you have gastric ulcers or gastritis, you must not eat chili peppers. You can eat a small amount of chili peppers during the remission period of the disease, but not too much.

2. Hypertension patients

Although chili peppers do not directly cause an increase in blood pressure, they can stimulate the body and accelerate the heartbeat, which may affect blood pressure. Also, when the salt intake is high, hypertension patients are not recommended to eat chili peppers as it may have adverse effects on their condition.

3. Constipation patients

Chili peppers are considered "hot" foods, and eating them can make constipation worse. When suffering from constipation, one should eat light and cool foods, such as various leafy vegetables. Avoid eating "hot" foods, not only chili peppers, but also ginger, garlic, and onions.

4. People with poor kidney function

The capsaicin in chili peppers needs to be excreted through the kidneys, so people with poor kidney function should not consume chili peppers.
