Xueshan Yizhihao: A Potent Chinese Medicinal Herb

February 5, 2024

We have all heard that "medicine is three points poison". Today, I want to introduce a Chinese medicinal herb called "Xueshan Yizhihao" which is inherently toxic and should not be taken internally without processing. The specific processing method and taboos are as follows:

Xueshan Yizhihao

  [Distribution of Xueshan Yizhihao]

Xueshan Yizhihao is distributed in Tibet and other areas.

  [Processing method of Xueshan Yizhihao]

Soak the Xueshan Yizhihao in cold water, changing the water 2-3 times a day, until there is no numbing sensation in the mouth. Then take it out and boil it with licorice and black beans until the center is no longer white. Finally, take it out and dry it.

[How to correctly distinguish Xueshan Yizhihao]

Xueshan Yizhihao is a Tibetan medicine mainly composed of aconitine, which is highly toxic in excessive amounts. Chinese medicine uses mung beans and honeysuckle to detoxify it.

Xueshan Yizhihao is used for bruises, rheumatism, toothache, and external treatment of fractures.

  [Taboos of Xueshan Yizhihao]

It should not be taken internally without processing. Internal intake should not exceed the recommended dosage. It should be avoided by weak individuals and pregnant women.

  [Methods of consuming Xueshan Yizhihao]

Daily usage: orally, swallow 0.75g; externally, soak in alcohol. Use 15g of Xueshan Yizhihao and soak it in one jin of alcohol. After ten days, use it externally.
