Xishai Cao's Medicinal Compatibility
1. For treating intestinal wind and blood in the stool: Xishai leaves are steamed with wine and ground into powder, then made into honey pills. Take 15 grams per dose, with rice soup. (From "Fang Mai Zheng Zong")
2. For treating hypertension: Take 15 grams of Xishai Cao, Xiaku Cao, Sang Ji Sheng, 9 grams of Ju Hua, and Long Dan Cao each. Decoct in water and drink.
3. For treating rheumatoid arthritis, lower back and leg pain, and other symptoms: Take 12 grams of Xishai Cao, Lao Guan Cao, and 15 grams of Ji Xue Teng. Decoct in water and drink.
4. For treating malaria: Xishai Cao can be used alone, taking 30-45 grams and decocting in water.
Xishai Cao's Contraindications
1. Xishai Cao is a cold-natured herb and is generally not suitable for people with a cold constitution. It is more suitable for people with rheumatic pain who tend to have damp-heat.
2. Avoid using an iron pot when boiling Xishai Cao to prevent loss of efficacy.
3. Do not take Xishai Cao in excessive amounts to avoid vomiting.
