Drinking Saltwater in the Morning Has Certain Risks

Regardless of whether you are a healthy individual, a person with high blood pressure, or someone with other conditions associated with high blood pressure (such as diabetes), increasing salt intake can raise blood pressure. While it may not cause blood pressure to go "off the charts" in healthy individuals, it can worsen the condition for people with high blood pressure.


          

 

The purpose of drinking water in the morning is to replenish the lost fluids from the previous night and dilute the blood. Plain water is the best choice for this task.

Any beverage that contains salt, sugar, oil, or a combination of these, regardless of its concentration, cannot provide the health benefits of plain water. On the contrary, it may further "concentrate" the blood.
