January 20, 2024

Milk is widely recognized as one of the most nutritious ingredients. Milk is rich in calcium and protein, so drinking milk regularly has many benefits for our body. It can be said that drinking milk daily is one of the best ways to promote physical health, improve resistance, and enhance immunity. However, there are many precautions to drinking milk. Improper consumption of milk can be very harmful to our health. So, what foods should not be consumed with milk?

1. Oranges and milk should not be eaten together

Oranges should not be eaten about 1 hour before or after drinking milk. When the protein in milk encounters the citric acid in oranges, it will coagulate and affect the digestion and absorption of milk. During this time period, it is also not advisable to eat other acidic fruits.

2. Milk and fruit juice should not be consumed together

More than 80% of the protein in milk is casein. Under acidic conditions, casein is prone to coagulation, leading to indigestion and diarrhea. Therefore, it is recommended not to consume fruit immediately after consuming milk or dairy products.

3. Milk should not be consumed with garlic chives or spinach

Mixing milk with vegetables high in oxalic acid, such as garlic chives or spinach, can affect calcium absorption.
