【Morphological Characteristics of Datura metel】

Perennial herb with white latex. Rhizome is clump-shaped or conical, brown outer skin and yellow-white inner surface. Stem erect, purple-brown. Leaves simple, alternate, almost sessile; leaf blades narrow elliptic or lanceolate, 1.5-6cm long, 8-15mm wide.

Inflorescence terminal and axillary, 1-3 times 3-branched, usually with 3 leaf-like ovate bracts at the branching point, and 2 small bracts at the apex of the final branching, with a cup-shaped umbel inflorescence at the apex.

Flowers light yellow, gland reddish-brown, flat and wide elliptical, capsule ovate, with soft spines. When mature, it splits into 3 chambers.


【Precautions for Using Datura metel】

Datura metel is prohibited for internal use. When harvesting, contact with the sap can cause swelling and peeling of the skin.
