Medicinal Value of E Ma Huang

Indications:

E Ma Huang is used for abdominal pain, malnutrition in children, dry blood consumption in women, waist sprains, wounds, urethritis, parotitis, and snake bites.

1. "Emei Medicinal Plants": Clears heat and promotes diuresis.

2. "Guizhou Herbal Medicine": Tonifies weakness, activates blood circulation, treats malaria, and relieves pain.

3. "Guangxi Chinese Herbal Medicine": Aids digestion, relieves pain, and detoxifies snake bites. Treats gastric diseases, malnutrition in children, and snake bites.

Actions:

1. Treats abdominal pain: Grind E Ma Huang seeds and take orally; or use 15 grams of the root, decoct in water and take orally. ("Guizhou Herbal Medicine")

2. Treats dry blood consumption in women: Take 30 grams of E Ma Huang root. Take the first dose with wine, and the second dose with stewed meat.

3. Treats retained placenta: Use wild soybeans, Huang Shi leaves, and calcined lotus pods. Decoct in water and take orally.

4. Treats menstrual disorders: Add wild soybeans and brown sugar to stewed chicken and take orally.
