Traditional Chinese medicine often uses medicinal wine to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Wine has a warm and dispersing nature, which can dispel wind, eliminate cold, and promote blood circulation. This helps to promote the flow of qi and blood, eliminate wind and dampness, strengthen the tendons and bones, and relieve the disease. The following are five commonly used medicinal wines.
One: Fengliao Herbal Wine
Ingredients: Qianghuo, Weilingxian, Wujiapi, Dinggongteng, Guizhi, Duhuo, Qinghaosi, Mahuang, Baizhi, Xiaohuixiang, Danggui, Chuanxiong, Zhizi, Fangji, Baijiu (Chinese white liquor).
Efficacy: Dispels wind, eliminates cold, promotes blood circulation.
Indications: Suitable for wind-cold-damp obstruction syndrome.
Usage: 10ml each time, once daily.
Two: Snake Wine
Ingredients: 1500g Wushao Snake, 200g Dabaixi Snake, 100g Fushesnake, 500g Shengdi (Rehmanniae Radix), 5000g Bingtang (rock sugar), 100kg Baijiu (Chinese white liquor).
Preparation: Chop off the heads of the three snakes, wash with wine, cut into short sections, and dry. Melt the rock sugar. Fill the Baijiu into a wine jar. Pour the three snakes and Shengdi directly into the wine, cover tightly, stir once a day, open the jar and filter after 10-15 days, then add the rock sugar.
Efficacy: Eliminates wind and dampness, warms the meridians, promotes blood circulation, stops pain.
Indications: Wind-cold-damp obstruction syndrome.
Usage: 5ml each time, three times daily.
Three: Papaya and Niuxi Wine
Ingredients: 120g Papaya, 60g Niuxi (Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix), 60g Sangjisheng (Mulberry Mistletoe). Soak the herbs in 500ml Daqu (fermented grains) for 7 days.
Efficacy: Promotes blood circulation, removes blood stasis, unblocks collaterals, relieves pain.
Indications: Rheumatoid arthritis with blood stasis and obstruction.
Usage: 10ml each dose, twice daily.
Four: Chushi Wine
Ingredients: 12g Tiger bone (substitute: Leopard bone), Fangji, Yunling, Duzhong, Songjie, Qinjiao, Gouji, Qiegen, Xuduan, Shenjincao, Duhuo, Canshi, 12g each; 6g Duhuo, Canshi, Mugua, Gouqizi, Cangerzi, Xietiancao, 12g each; 15g Sangzhi, 12g Niuxi.
Soak the herbs in 2500g grain wine for 5 days.
Efficacy: Dispels wind, eliminates cold, removes dampness, promotes blood circulation.
Indications: Wind-cold-damp obstruction syndrome.
Usage: Oral administration, 10ml each dose, once daily.
Five: Tiger Bone and Papaya Wine
Ingredients: 50g Tiger bone (substitute: Leopard bone), Danggui, Chuanxiong, Xuduan, Wujiapi, Chuanniuxi, Tianma, Honghua, Baiqiagen, 50g each; 200g Sangzhi, 25g Qinjiao, Fangfeng, 150g Mugua.
Preparation: Grind the herbs into coarse powder, put them in a silk bag, soak them in 10kg good sorghum wine for 7 days, filter the residue, clarify the wine, and add 1kg of rock sugar.
Efficacy: Dispels cold, eliminates wind, removes dampness, promotes blood circulation, relieves blood stasis, stops pain.
Indications: Wind-cold-damp obstruction syndrome.
Usage: Drink as needed.
