Longan Hawthorn Tea

Ingredients: 5g hawthorn, 5g longan meat, 3 red dates

Instructions: Wash the ingredients and put them in a teapot. Soak them in boiling water for ten minutes.

Explanation: Spring is the season to nourish the liver. The liver is the organ that stores blood, and both blood stagnation and blood deficiency in the liver can affect people's emotions and sleep. Hawthorn has a sweet and slightly warm sour taste. It enters the spleen, stomach, and liver meridians, and can promote digestion, invigorate the stomach, activate blood circulation, and dispel blood stasis. When combined with longan meat, which nourishes the heart and spleen, and red dates, which tonify the middle and benefit qi, the three ingredients can nourish the liver and blood, calm the mind, and assist in sleep. It is particularly suitable for people who stay up late for a long time and have insufficient liver blood, dry and itchy eyes, dry mouth and bitter taste, and restlessness and insomnia.

Nutritionist's reminder: People with weak spleen and stomach should be cautious about consuming hawthorn. Diabetics should not consume excessive amounts of longan meat and red dates.
