The Vibrating Waist Method: A Promising Approach for Treating Lumbar Sprain and Disc Herniation

February 9, 2024

Pressing and stretching the waist under traction is called vibrating waist method. The patient lies prone, with soft pads under the chest and pelvis, allowing the abdomen to be suspended. Two assistants hold the patient's armpits and ankles respectively, applying opposing traction. The operator places both palms overlapping on the lumbosacral region and performs rapid pressing, causing the waist to vibrate. This method has the effects of relaxing tendons, promoting blood circulation, loosening adhesions, and widening the intervertebral joint space. It is mainly used to treat acute lumbar sprain, lumbar disc herniation, and waist and leg pain.
