(I) Wiping Method
Wiping method can be divided into palm wiping method and thumb wiping method.
Operating Requirements
(1) Keep the shoulders relaxed and the elbows hanging down. Place the palm or thumb closely against the skin with one or both hands.
(2) Use the upper arm to exert force, using the shoulder joint as a fulcrum, and move the forearm, palm, or thumb in a left-right, up-down, or arc-shaped curve.

(II) Rubbing Method
Operating Requirements
(1) Keep the shoulders relaxed, the elbows hanging down, and the wrists suspended. Use the palms or fingers to hold the treated area.
(2) Use the back of the hand to exert force and rotate the hands rapidly in a circular motion, moving slowly from top to bottom or bottom to top.
Key Points of Action
(1) Apply force evenly and gently, gradually increasing the pressure, and start with a slow speed and gradually increase the speed.
(2) Maintain a light and coordinated movement, with a rhythmical flow. Rub quickly and move slowly, repeating the motion 3-5 times.
Clinical Application
Rubbing method can be used in combination with kneading method and is often used as the ending technique. It is suitable for the limbs, ribs, and waist. This technique can help to promote the circulation of meridians, harmonize qi and blood, and relieve muscle spasms.
