Preventing Obesity in Women: Key Periods to Watch Out For

March 16, 2024

Women should pay attention to three periods in order to prevent obesity: adolescence, pregnancy, and menopause. If you can have a reasonable diet and maintain a good figure during these three periods, you may have a charming figure for the rest of your life!

Adolescence: The hormonal changes during adolescence are the main cause of weight gain in women. During this period, the secretion of sex hormones is vigorous, and the rate of fat accumulation in women is much higher than that in men, leading to metabolic imbalance and excessive fat accumulation.

After becoming a mother: Postpartum women are prone to obesity. Firstly, it is due to the sufficient intake of nutrition during pregnancy and lactation. Secondly, it is due to the compression of the abdomen during fetal development. Thirdly, it is due to the huge changes in endocrine metabolism, which cause changes in body functions. Therefore, postpartum obesity is often accompanied by deficiency of qi and blood, decreased skin elasticity, etc.

Midlife: Women entering middle age often experience hormonal imbalances, which can cause deficiency of spleen and kidney qi and poor blood circulation. The busy household chores and stressful work often make women neglect themselves, and obesity syndrome frequently occurs, affecting both physical and mental health.

Are you in one of these periods? Be sure to pay attention!
