Effective Abdominal Massage Exercises for Weight Loss After a Meal

What to do after a meal if you want to lose weight? If exercise is too intense and may upset your stomach, and if you do too little physical activity, it won't be effective. Then try abdominal massage exercises. Here is a set of four exercises for toning your lower abdomen. Each exercise should be done about 36 times and can help activate your body and promote digestion and weight loss.

Exercise 1: Dantian and Shenzhu Acupoints

Method: Relax your fingers and gently tap the fattest part of your lower abdomen. Tap gently, like tapping a baby's back after a meal. Then, bend your thumb inward towards your palm and make a fist with the other four fingers. Use your fist to gently tap the fattest part of your lower abdomen. Tapping with an open palm is more effective and thorough, but since the fist has air vibration, it won't cause any harm.

Exercise 2: Palms Circulating and Massaging the Abdomen

Method: Extend both hands and place them on your navel, crossing your thumbs and aligning your palms with your navel. Men should have their left hand below, while women should have their right hand below. After taking a slight breath and contracting your lower abdomen, use both hands to massage in a clockwise direction for 36 rounds. This can help stimulate intestinal peristalsis, and you will feel a slight warmth on your palms and abdomen during the massage.

Exercise 3: Exploring the Fatty Area with Dragon Claw

Method: Slightly open your hands like dragon claws and gently knead the fattest area of your lower abdomen.

The upper right side of the abdomen is where the liver, gallbladder, and spleen are located, while the stomach is in the middle of the lower abdomen. Kneading the liver and gallbladder can help reduce fat, and kneading the spleen and stomach can help reduce fatty tissue. According to traditional Chinese medicine, kneading is more detailed than tapping. If you feel pain during the kneading, it indicates that the liver is not functioning well. In this case, apply less pressure and avoid causing further harm. If even a gentle touch causes pain, it is a warning sign and you should see a doctor immediately.

Exercise 4: The Jade Toad Sucks and Slims the Lower Abdomen

Method: Hold the fattest part of your lower abdomen with both hands. Take a quick and forceful inhale, lifting both hands upward, then exhale and relax. This exercise, combined with breathing techniques, is the most intense. It can be compared to suddenly running a hundred meters and feeling dizzy from taking in too much oxygen at once. Some people may feel dizzy after just a few repetitions, so it is important to listen to your body and not force it. If you feel dizzy after five or six repetitions, it indicates poor physical strength. In this case, do not continue and take a break.
