Scientific Weight Loss: Acupoint Embedding, Fast Walking, Realistic Goals, and Regular Meal Times

November 28, 2023

When the Xiaoman solar term arrives, many people put weight loss on their agenda. How to scientifically lose weight? You need to understand these knowledge.

Acupoint embedding can help with weight loss

Acupoint embedding is developed based on traditional acupuncture weight loss. Doctors diagnose patients' obesity causes through observation, listening, questioning, and pulse feeling. They design different weight loss acupoint prescriptions for each patient, stimulate the acupoints to control the patient's excessive appetite, increase the basal metabolic rate, regulate the imbalanced organ functions, and restore the body's balance.

Fast walking is better than resisting temptation

Most people who want to lose weight resist their cravings for delicious food and rely on eating vegetables and fruits every day to achieve the effect of dieting. However, researchers from Loughborough University in the UK found that exercise can more effectively suppress hunger and reduce calorie intake compared to simply suppressing the desire for food.

The walking speed should be based on your own physical condition. Fast walk for half an hour to 40 minutes every day until you sweat slightly. The heart rate of young people should not exceed 130 beats per minute, and that of people over 60 years old should not exceed 120 beats per minute. It is suitable to take 120 to 140 steps per minute and have a heart rate of 120 beats per minute. The intensity should be based on the feeling of slightly faster breathing, slightly increased heart rate, and slight sweating without discomfort.

Set a realistic weight loss goal

People who want to lose weight want to get rid of all their excess weight. However, researchers from the Human Nutrition Center of the University of Washington in the United States found that obese people only need to lose 5% of their total body weight to achieve immediate results. In fact, the simpler the goal, the easier it is to achieve, which has the best effect on improving basal metabolic rate and losing weight.

Researchers found that not all organ systems have the same response to continuous weight loss. Muscle cells have the strongest response to continuous weight loss, while the liver and adipose tissue only have the highest response intensity when weight loss reaches 5%.

Regular meal times help with weight loss

A diet guidance company in the UK surveyed the meal times of 1,000 successful weight loss individuals. The results showed that the most ideal meal times are breakfast around 7 am, lunch around 12 pm, and dinner around 6 pm. 84% of the respondents in the survey said that eating three meals at regular times is important for weight loss. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and eating breakfast every day helps reduce calorie intake. 75% of the respondents said they would definitely have lunch, but eat less. 72% of the respondents said that their dinner calorie intake does not exceed that of lunch. If you feel hungry between meals, you can eat some low-fat snacks appropriately.

Researchers believe that regular meal times are key to successful weight control. If you skip breakfast, you will eat more at lunch and dinner, which is not conducive to weight control. In addition, researchers suggest that the period between 6 pm and 10 pm may be crucial for weight control and should avoid excessive calorie intake that leads to weight gain.
