Dietary Methods for Lowering Blood Lipids: Natural Remedies for a Healthy Heart

High blood lipids refer to high blood fat content and thick blood viscosity. It is a warning sign of blood health and is usually caused by a greasy diet, excessive anxiety, and aging. What are the dietary methods for lowering blood lipids?

Hawthorn lipid-lowering tea:

Ingredients: 10 grams of hawthorn, 5 grams of mulberry leaves, 5 grams of goji berries, 5 grams of cassia seeds, 5 grams of Pu'er tea.

Instructions: Brew with boiling water and drink as tea every day.

Benefits: In addition to lowering cholesterol, hawthorn contains lipase, which can promote the digestion of fatty foods and relieve indigestion. It is recommended to eat 3-5 hawthorn berries every day.

Corn and Chinese yam porridge:

Ingredients: 30 grams of corn, 20 grams of Chinese yam, sugar as needed.

Instructions: Steam the Chinese yam and peel it, then cut it into small pieces. Crush the corn into residue, add an appropriate amount of water, and simmer over low heat after boiling. When it is cooked, add the Chinese yam and sugar, and cook into porridge.

Soybean and walnut porridge:

Ingredients: 300 grams of soybeans, 10 grams of lilies, 10 walnuts, rice and sugar as needed.

Instructions: Roast the soybeans and lilies, and grind them into powder. Soak the walnuts in boiling water for 5 minutes, then remove them and mix with the rice soaked overnight. Grind them together and put them in a small bowl. Add five to six cups of water and soak thoroughly, then filter with gauze. Pour the juice into a pot, add 3 cups of water, and mix in the soybean and lily powder. Cook into a paste-like consistency, and add sugar to taste.

Purple garlic porridge:

Ingredients: 50 grams of purple garlic, 100 grams of glutinous corn.

Instructions: Peel the purple garlic, wash it, and chop it into garlic paste. Wash the glutinous corn and put it in a clay pot with an appropriate amount of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat until the corn is cooked. When the porridge is about to be done, add the garlic paste and mix well.

Benefits: Relieves gas and reduces turbidity, lowers blood lipids and blood sugar.

Ze Xie Oolong tea:

Ingredients: 15 grams of Ze Xie, 3 grams of Oolong tea.

Instructions: Wash the Ze Xie, boil it in water for 20 minutes, take the medicinal juice, and brew the Oolong tea while it is still hot. Cover and let it steep for 15 minutes before drinking.

Benefits: Diuresis and weight loss, liver protection and fat reduction. Suitable for various types of hyperlipidemia.

Ginkgo leaf tea:

Ingredients: 5 grams of ginkgo leaves, brown sugar as needed.

Instructions: Boil the ginkgo leaves with an appropriate amount of water, take the juice, and stir in brown sugar.

Benefits: Eliminates dampness and invigorates qi, activates blood circulation and dissipates stasis. Suitable for patients with phlegm-dampness obstruction type hyperlipidemia.
