What to look for in a lipoma diet

June 6, 2023
Lipoma is a common benign tumor, and the development of the disease is closely related to diet. It also means that lipoma patients should pay more attention to their diet after surgery, so what should lipoma diet pay attention to?

Adequate intake of protein

Patients with lipoma should consume adequate amounts of protein to maintain the body's metabolic needs. Egg whites and milk are all protein-rich foods. It should be noted that egg yolk is high in cholesterol and should be consumed sparingly, and milk should be low-fat and sugar-free.

Take the right amount of vitamins

Patients with lipoma should eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins, such as kiwi, apples, and green leafy vegetables, without restriction. Vitamins play an important role in the metabolism of substances, regulating the body's metabolism and energy transformation, which is beneficial to the recovery of lipoma.

Eat more fiber-rich foods

Lipoma patients eat more fiber-rich foods, such as coarse grains, sweet potatoes, apples, fungus and kelp, which can promote the peristalsis of the gastrointestinal tract, accelerate the excretion of feces, reduce the accumulation of toxic substances in the body and strengthen the metabolism, which is good for the body.

Low cholesterol diet

Long-term intake of high cholesterol foods will affect the body's metabolism and cause a large amount of cholesterol to be deposited under the skin and in the organs, thus leading to lipoma. Therefore, lipoma patients should control their cholesterol intake, especially abstain from high cholesterol foods before bedtime. Usually, they should eat chicken and duck meat with skin removed, avoid fatty meat, and eat more low-cholesterol foods such as mushrooms and celery.

Abstain from alcohol

Alcohol contains alcohol, which is mainly decomposed in the body through the liver. Overload is likely to cause dysfunction of the liver and gallbladder, causing disorders in the secretion and metabolism of bile, thus stimulating the formation of lipoma and making the original tumor grow, increasing the cancer factor of lipoma.

Limit the consumption of oil

Patients with lipoma should limit the daily intake of edible oil to no more than 20 grams. Peanut oil, canola oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, salad oil, and edible blended oil can be consumed. Avoid palm oil, lard, butter, butter, chicken (duck) oil, etc.

Hazards of lipoma

Affects aesthetics

Diffuse lipomas that grow on exposed areas such as the head and neck can be very disturbing and affect the aesthetics of the patient.

Impact on treatment

If left untreated, most diffuse lipomas will grow slowly over time. We have seen patients with diffuse lipomas grow to the size of a rugby ball, making treatment much more difficult.

Potential for spread

If not treated properly, diffuse lipomas may spread and grow to hundreds or even hundreds, which can be very difficult to manage. Therefore, it is also important to treat them properly.

The key part of the tumor

Some tumors grow in critical areas of the body, and as the tumor grows, it may compress the nerves in critical areas, threatening the life of the person.
