Many famous Chinese medicine practitioners throughout history have attached great importance to breast development. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that breast development is closely related to the organs, meridians, and qi and blood. Among them, the liver, stomach, kidney meridians, and the conception and governor vessels are most closely related to breast development. If the above-mentioned organs, meridians, and qi and blood are imbalanced, they will affect breast development.
1. Liver Qi Stagnation
This type is the most common. People who are emotionally unstable, easily irritable or depressed, will have poor circulation of the breast meridians, which can cause breast distension and pain before menstruation and insufficient milk secretion after childbirth.
Treatment: Soothe liver stagnation with modified Xiaoyao San (such as Wang Buliuxing and Tianhuafen).
2. Qi and Blood Deficiency
People with weak constitution since birth and poor nutrition afterwards may have flat chest or less milk secretion after childbirth.
Treatment: Tonify qi and nourish blood with modified Bajin Tang (such as Huangqi and Renshen).
3. Liver and Stomach Heat Accumulation
People with hot constitution who consume excessive spicy food or have excessive prolactin secretion may have spontaneous milk flow. In severe cases, it may even lead to breast abscess and breast lumps.
Treatment: Clear heat and detoxify with dandelion, Xiakucao, and Dongguizi.
In recent years, medicated baths have become popular for relieving stress and reducing fatigue. Taking a bath can promote blood circulation and stimulate the body's circulation, as well as beautify the curve of the breasts. If combined with some herbal medicines recommended by Chinese medicine practitioners, the benefits of medicated baths can be found. Since the medicine is not taken orally (no harm to the stomach and no additional burden on the liver and kidneys), there is no need to worry about side effects. It can also cleanse the skin by using the principles of diffusion and penetration to reach the affected area directly.
