Tips for Pregnant Women to Beat the Heat During Summer

January 9, 2024

How should pregnant women deal with the hot weather during the dog days? What should they pay attention to!

Pregnant women should pay attention to the following points:

  1. Diet

The diet should be fresh and varied, which helps the absorption of nutrients for both the pregnant woman and the fetus. In summer, appetite tends to be poor, so to maintain a good appetite, it is recommended to frequently change the style of dishes, which can promote appetite and meet the nutritional needs of pregnant women.

  2. Clothing

Wear loose and comfortable clothes, preferably silk or cotton underwear, which are breathable and absorb sweat, helping to dissipate body heat.

  3. Avoid excessive cooling

Avoid excessive exposure to cold. Pregnant women are more susceptible to heat, so it is not advisable to stay in air-conditioned rooms for too long after being in a high-temperature environment to prevent chilling the abdomen.

  4. Bathing

Take baths with warm water. If cold water is used, it may not wash away dirt on the skin easily and the pregnant woman may catch a cold.

  5. Sleep

Ensure sufficient sleep time. The dog days are hot, and pregnant women may easily become fatigued due to increased physical exertion. Therefore, it is important to have proper naps, pay attention to rest, and avoid excessive fatigue.

  6. Mood

Maintain a positive mood, which can not only relieve the adverse effects of hot weather but also create a stable and peaceful environment for the growth of the fetus, promoting its normal development.
