What is Cryolipolysis all about?

September 21, 2023
Cryolipolysis is a new medical beauty weight loss method that is recognized by the public because it is safe and non-invasive. Here's what cryolipolysis is all about, and whether people with fat thighs and waist and abdominal fat can do cryolipolysis for weight loss.

What is Cryolipolysis about?

Cryolipolysis, also known as fat freezing, is based on the principle that the freezing point of water is 0℃, while fat starts to solidify from 5℃, and the cryolipolysis instrument is placed on the surface of human skin to cool the subcutaneous tissue to 5℃, so that the cells age and die one after another. The dead cells and fats will be solidified and excreted out of the body through metabolism to achieve the effect of body slimming.

Can cryolipolysis be done on thighs?

Yes. People who have a lot of fat in their thighs, waist and abdomen can try this method to reduce fat, but cryolipolysis is only suitable for local weight loss, not for the whole body. Therefore, it is best for people with total body obesity to lose weight through exercise and proper dieting.

Cryolipolysis process

Step 1: Determine the extent of cryolipolysis. Step 2: Apply the cryolipolysis instrument to the treated area and cool the subcutaneous tissue to 5°C. After one hour, the fat tissue is destroyed, while triglycerides, the main component of fat cells, are prematurely aged and fat cells die one after another. Step 3: Post-operative observation. 2-3 months later the necrotic fat cells are discharged with the body metabolism to achieve body shaping effect.

Does cryolipolysis hurt?

Cryolipolysis generally does not require anesthesia, and the first 10 minutes will be uncomfortable with a pulling sensation, like a big invisible hand desperately pulling the flesh, or a big metal belt that tightens the stomach more and more, and it is hot and painful. After ten minutes or so, the treatment area was cooled down and the pain was basically not felt anymore. After the treatment is over, the patient will experience temporary numbness in the treated area for a week.

How long can you exercise after Cryolipolysis

No strenuous exercise for 7 days is sufficient. No bed rest is required after cryolipolysis, and if there is no obvious pain, itching or redness within three days, you can exercise, but just be careful not to do too strenuous exercise within 7 days and try to avoid bumping the treated area.

What is the effect of Cryolipolysis?

According to clinical studies, the average reduction of fat layer thickness is 22.4% within 2 to 4 months after Cryolipolysis, and the body shape can be maintained for about 9 to 12 months. However, no one can be sure how long the results will last.
