Excessive sexual activity can deplete Yin essence, which is known as "exhaustion" in traditional Chinese medicine. This is commonly seen in newlywed couples with a high frequency of sexual activity. Drinking a nourishing drink can help regulate this.
Ingredients: 30g clams, 6 squid, 10g cooked Rehmannia, 2 Codonopsis pilosula, 20g ginger.
Method: Clean the clams and squid, cut the squid into sections, lightly smash the ginger, and put them together with the remaining ingredients in an oil-free clay pot. Add enough water to cover the ingredients, simmer on low heat for 2 hours, and add 3g of salt when the dish is finished. Be careful not to add too much salt, as it can harm the kidneys.
This soup is made with clams, squid, and other salty and cold ingredients to nourish the Yin of the kidneys, and is combined with ginger to dispel coldness, and Codonopsis pilosula to nourish Qi and generate fluids.
