Embracing a Positive Mindset: Letting Go of Age, Resentment, and Anger

March 20, 2024

Entering old age, we must adhere to the "Six No Worries" in order to make life easier, happier, and healthier. What are the things we shouldn't worry about?

No Worries About Age As time passes, aging is an inevitable objective law. As we grow older, our physical age increases, but we should strive to maintain a youthful mindset. It is often said that "if you don't think of yourself as old, you won't become old." Older people should learn to focus on things that bring them happiness and not constantly dwell on their age. They should always keep a "youthful heart," as the saying goes: "At sixty, still youthful; at seventy, nothing special; at eighty, full of vitality; at ninety, still alive and kicking; at one hundred, always smiling." Constantly thinking "I am old" and having a negative mindset of "not much time left" is detrimental to one's health.

No Worries About Resentment In life, it is impossible to avoid love and hate, as well as conflicts and misunderstandings due to different experiences, backgrounds, and cultures. We should be tolerant towards others, not nitpick about every little thing, have a generous heart, and approach conflicts with goodwill. Only a peaceful mindset is beneficial to our health.

No Worries About Anger Anger is a state very close to rage, caused by dissatisfaction. Life is full of ups and downs. If you hold grudges and constantly feel upset, it will lead to various illnesses. Song Fan Zhongyan said in his book "Letter to Zhong She": "Because of your illness, I am upset, and it burdens me."
