Six Types of Food that Promote Health and Longevity in Elderly People

Research has shown that six types of food, including staple foods, fruits, vegetables, seafood, soy products, and tea, contribute to the health and longevity of elderly people.

A follow-up survey of thousands of elderly people over the age of 80 nationwide found that elderly people who consume coarse grains as their staple food have better health conditions than those who consume rice, while elderly people who consume flour have better health conditions than those who consume coarse grains.

Research has found that elderly people who regularly consume fresh fruits have better health conditions than those who do not. This is related to the fact that fresh fruits contain a large amount of vitamins and fiber. In addition, elderly people who frequently consume fresh vegetables have better health conditions than those who do not, because fresh vegetables are rich in chlorophyll and vitamins, which contribute to health.

Research shows that another dietary factor significantly related to the health conditions of elderly people is whether they regularly consume fish and seafood. The more frequently elderly people consume fish and seafood, the better their health conditions. The protein in fish and seafood contains the 9 essential amino acids needed by the human body and is easily digestible, with 87% to 98% being absorbed by the human body.

Soy products are another dietary factor significantly related to the health conditions of elderly people. The more frequently elderly people consume soy products, the better their health conditions. Soy products are rich in plant protein, as well as a large proportion of linoleic acid and no cholesterol, all of which are beneficial to the health of elderly people.

Tea is also a dietary factor significantly related to the health conditions of elderly people. Elderly people who regularly drink tea have better health conditions than those who do not. Tea contains over 500 chemical components, including proteins, amino acids, polysaccharides, vitamins, and inorganic salts, as well as abundant bioactive substances such as tea polyphenols, all of which contribute to the prevention and treatment of various diseases in elderly people and therefore contribute to their health.
