Why can massaging the ears improve health and longevity? If we observe carefully, we will find that the ears resemble an inverted fetus in the womb, and the organs of the body are reflected in the ears. If we massage the ears as I mentioned, it is equivalent to adjusting the limbs and internal organs.
In traditional Chinese medicine, the "seven orifices" refer to the two openings of the eyes, two openings of the ears, two openings of the nose, and one opening of the mouth. They have close connections with the internal organs, meridians, and collaterals. Now, let me talk about the "ear".
The ear is the orifice of the kidney, connected to the brain, and is the auditory organ of the human body. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the ears are closely related to the internal organs, especially the kidneys. The kidneys open to the ears, the heart relies on the ears, the spleen nourishes the ears, and the liver and gallbladder qi can affect the ears... Therefore, the auditory ability of the ears can reflect the functions of the kidneys, liver, gallbladder, and other organs. By massaging the ears and adjusting the body, the internal organs can also benefit.
Now, let me introduce a set of "open orifice exercises" suitable for everyone.
Rub the earlobes
Place the palms on the ears and rub in clockwise and counterclockwise directions for 30 times each. This is one round, do three rounds in the morning and before bed each day.
Pinch the ear pavilion
The ear pavilion refers to the small ears, the protruding cartilage on the outer ear. Pinch the ear pavilions with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands 30 times as one round. Do three rounds in the morning.
Loosen the earlobes
Place the palms on the ears, gently apply internal pressure with both hands, and release. Do 30 times in the morning and evening each day.
Twist the ear
Gently insert the index finger into the external auditory meatus and rotate it back and forth 20 times. Apply even force, alternate between the left and right ears, and avoid excessive speed to prevent damage to the skin inside the ears.
Pull the earlobes
After waking up in the morning, use the right hand to pull the upper part of the left earlobe 20 times, and then use the left hand to pull the upper part of the right earlobe 20 times.
