Arrangement of Daily Life for the Elderly
"Moderate diet, regular schedule, and avoiding excessive labor" is the ancient wisdom for longevity. From the perspective of modern medicine and biology, it is scientifically reasonable. So, how should the elderly arrange their daily life?
Sleep - Go to bed and wake up early, "one big and two small". This means that besides sleeping early and well at night, there should be a short nap after breakfast and lunch, each lasting no more than 1 hour. Waking up early in the morning and engaging in activities for a few hours, followed by a short nap after breakfast, can help restore physical energy and meet the physiological needs of the elderly. After lunch, people often feel tired and sleepy, so a short nap is suitable for this physiological situation.
Diet - Eat at regular times and in moderate amounts. Older adults should have smaller, more frequent meals.
Exercise - Be persistent and avoid being impatient. For elderly people with mobility, outdoor activities should be the main focus, with indoor activities as a supplement, in order to make full use of natural conditions such as sunlight, fresh air, and space for engaging in various beneficial and healthy activities. The specific activities and intensity can be determined based on individual physical conditions, but the key is to be consistent.
