Sleeping Habits for a Good Night's Rest

March 3, 2024

Sleeping is a common activity for all of us. However, even in such a common activity, there are certain things we should pay attention to. Developing bad habits can lead to the occurrence of diseases over time. So, what should we pay attention to when sleeping to ensure a good night's sleep?

Do not keep the electric blanket on all night

Electric blankets are only meant to provide some warmth to the bed before sleeping. If the electric blanket is kept on all night at a relatively high temperature, it can cause dehydration and leave you with a dry mouth and throat in the morning. The correct way to use an electric blanket is to turn it on before sleeping for about 10 minutes and then turn it off, so that it provides warmth when you get into bed.

Avoid eating too much before sleep

During sleep, the body's organs are in a resting and adjusting state. If you eat too much before sleep, it puts a burden on the stomach and can easily lead to stomach problems over time. Therefore, it is advisable not to eat too much before sleep.

Try to sleep with your mouth closed

Sleeping with your mouth open can result in inhaling cold air, causing a decrease in the temperature of the mouth and lungs, which is not good for the body. Sleeping with your mouth open can also lead to snoring, disturbing others. Therefore, it is recommended to breathe through your nose and find a comfortable position to let your body rest during sleep.

Make sure to sleep before midnight

In the concept of health preservation from ancient times, sleep is considered the first important thing in life. If you do not sleep before midnight every day (between 11 pm and 1 am), it directly harms the liver for both men and women. Over time, it can also harm the kidneys and gradually lead to a deficiency of qi and blood in the body. You may notice a dull complexion when looking in the mirror every day.

Wake up early without snoozing

For the health of the body, waking up early is beneficial for the body's metabolism. The advantage of waking up early is that it allows the body to excrete metabolic waste. If you wake up too late, the large intestine may not have sufficient activity, which may hinder the excretion function.

I would like to remind everyone here not to snooze as it can lead to dizziness and extreme fatigue.
