According to TCM, the Yongquan acupoint is directly connected to the kidney meridian, and the Yongquan acupoint on the sole of the foot is the place where turbid Qi descends. Regular massage of the Yongquan acupoint can nourish the essence, tonify the kidneys, strengthen the body, prevent premature aging, and also have certain therapeutic effects on dizziness, insomnia, tinnitus, hemoptysis, nasal congestion, and headache caused by kidney deficiency.

The method of foot massage is as follows: soak the feet in warm water before going to bed, then rub them together with your hands to warm them up. Use the palm of your left hand to massage the sole of your right foot, and the palm of your right hand to massage the sole of your left foot, with more than 100 strokes each time, until the feet are warm. This method is effective in tonifying the kidneys and nourishing Yin, and is especially beneficial for common symptoms of heat in middle-aged and elderly people.

 1. Rub both palms together until they become warm, then place them on the waist with the palms touching the skin, and massage the waist up and down until there is a warm sensation. This exercise can tonify the kidneys and gather Qi. It can be done once in the morning and once in the evening, with about 200 strokes each time.

 2. Make fists with both hands and use the prominent part of the knuckles of both thumbs to massage the lower back area in a circular motion. Gradually increase the pressure until a sense of soreness and swelling is felt. Continue massaging for about 10 minutes, once in the morning, afternoon, and evening.

 1. Black Sesame Seeds

Black sesame seeds are the preferred choice for kidney tonification. They can be sprinkled on rice or bread and are both delicious and beneficial for kidney tonification. Black sesame seeds have a good therapeutic effect on dizziness, blurred vision, tinnitus, premature graying of hair, and hair loss after illness.

 2. Walnuts

Walnuts have a warming nature and a sweet taste. They can not only tonify the lungs and relieve coughing but also tonify the kidneys and solidify essence. Therefore, it is advisable to eat walnuts regularly in daily life.

 3. Euryale Seeds

TCM believes that euryale seeds "tonify the spleen and stomach, and solidify essence and Qi". "Compendium of Materia Medica" also states that euryale seeds "nourish the kidneys and treat seminal emission". Many ancient prescriptions for treating seminal emission and premature ejaculation contain euryale seeds.

 4. Lamb

Lamb has a warming nature and is an excellent choice for winter nourishment, especially for those who are afraid of cold, have weakness and lack of Qi. Lamb has been regarded as a good food for kidney tonification and yang strengthening since ancient times.

[Foods to Avoid for Kidney Tonification and Yang Strengthening]

 1. Beverages

Most beverages are highly acidic, and long-term consumption can change the acid-base balance in the body.

Especially excessive consumption of sports drinks and soft drinks can burden the kidneys. Since the kidneys are important organs for regulating the acid-base balance in the body, they can be damaged.

 2. Salty Foods

Many people have a preference for strong flavors and often eat foods with strong tastes, such as spicy and salty foods.

Especially pickled foods contain a lot of salt, and long-term consumption can increase blood pressure and disrupt the normal blood flow in the kidneys, leading to kidney disease.

 3. Strong Tea

Strong tea contains high levels of fluoride, and the kidneys are the main organs for excreting fluoride.

When consumed in excess, it can exceed the excretion capacity of the kidneys, leading to fluoride accumulation in the body, which can cause damage to the kidneys.

 4. Medications

Various diseases afflict people, and when they get sick, they rush to buy various related medications.

However, excessive use of quinolone antibiotics and aminoglycoside antibiotics can damage your kidneys and even lead to kidney failure.
