Using Onions to Lower Blood Sugar

1. Method One:

Peel and slice a clean onion, then heat it in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes. Transfer the onion to a container and add 5 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Store it in the refrigerator.

You can consume it with breakfast the next morning. Eating this onion as part of your daily breakfast can effectively lower blood sugar and contribute to weight loss.

2. Method Two:

Wash and slice the onion into thin pieces. Add a few lettuce leaves and pour apple cider vinegar over the onion until it is submerged.

This method can help treat long-standing constipation, stabilize blood pressure, and improve sleep quality.

3. Method Three:

Take 250 grams of onion and cook it using regular stir-frying methods. Serve it with rice. Alternatively, you can take 50-100 grams of onion, boil it in water for 1-2 minutes, and consume it.

This method can strengthen the gastrointestinal motility, increase secretion, reduce cholesterol levels, dilate blood vessels, reduce resistance in peripheral blood vessels and coronary arteries.

It can also counteract blood pressure-increasing substances like catecholamines in the body, kill bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and diphtheria bacillus, and have a diuretic effect by promoting the excretion of sodium chloride.


Who Should Avoid Eating Onions

1. People with Kidney Disease:

Onions contain a relatively high amount of phosphorus. Excessive intake can burden the kidneys, so people with kidney dysfunction should avoid eating onions. Alternatively, you can peel the onion thoroughly before consumption to reduce phosphorus intake and alleviate abnormal manifestations of the kidneys and gastrointestinal tract.

2. Individuals with Sensitive Skin:

If not properly managed, it can lead to allergic reactions. Therefore, individuals who are allergic to onions or have sensitive skin should avoid consuming such stimulating foods as much as possible.

3. Patients with Digestive Ulcers:

Onions have a pungent odor. Consuming excessive amounts can cause abdominal bloating and stimulate excessive gastric acid secretion, affecting the digestive system. In order to minimize the negative effects of onions, individuals with digestive disorders should avoid consuming these foods.
