Autumn is coming, and with it comes "autumn dryness". The body often experiences symptoms of "internal heat". It is important to ensure adequate intake of water and vitamins. The diet should consist of foods that nourish yin, clear heat, moisturize, quench thirst, clear the mind, and calm the spirit. Below are some traditional Chinese medicine dietary therapies for reducing internal heat.
1. Heart Heat: Heart heat can be divided into two types: deficiency and excess. Deficiency heat is characterized by low-grade fever, night sweats, restlessness, and dry mouth. Excess heat is characterized by recurrent oral ulcers, dry mouth, dark urine, and irritability.
Dietary therapy: Take 30g of lotus seeds, 15g of gardenia, add an appropriate amount of rock sugar, decoct in water, eat the lotus seeds and drink the soup.
2. Lung Heat: Symptoms of lung heat include dry cough with little or sticky phlegm, hot flashes, night sweats, hot palms and soles, insomnia, and red tongue.
Dietary therapy: Take 300g of pig liver, 30g of chrysanthemum flowers, cook until the liver is well done, eat the liver and drink the soup.
3. Stomach Heat: Deficiency heat in the stomach is characterized by mild cough, reduced appetite, constipation, abdominal distention, red tongue, and little coating. Excess heat in the stomach is characterized by discomfort in the upper abdomen, dry mouth, bitter taste in the mouth, and dry stools.
Dietary therapy: Take 30g of gypsum powder, appropriate amount of polished rice and mung beans, first decoct the gypsum powder in water, then filter out the residue, take the clear liquid, and then add the polished rice and mung beans to cook porridge and eat it.
4. Liver Heat: Symptoms of liver heat often include headache, dizziness, tinnitus, dry eyes, bitter taste in the mouth, and distending pain in the sides.
Dietary therapy: Take 10g of Fritillaria cirrhosa and grind it into powder, take 2 peeled pears and cut them into pieces, add an appropriate amount of rock sugar and water, stew and consume.
5. Kidney Heat: Symptoms of kidney heat include dizziness, blurred vision, tinnitus, deafness, weak and sore lower back and knees, hot flashes, and dryness in the five hearts (heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys).
Dietary therapy: Take 2 pig kidneys, 15g each of goji berries and Chinese dogwood, put them in a casserole and cook until the pig kidneys are well done, eat the pig kidneys and drink the soup.
