  Clinical Manifestations of Elderly Diabetes

  When it first occurs in the elderly, patients often do not know they have diabetes.

  Single neuropathy or the onset of sexual dysfunction are also the first noticeable symptoms of elderly diabetes.

  Patients may experience mild to moderate weight loss, dizziness, weakness, polyuria, thirst, and polyphagia.

  Diet for Diabetic Patients

  Breakfast: You can have milk or soy milk, or an egg with some staple food like bread. If you have time, you can also cook some vegetables, but with less oil and salt.

  Lunch: Staple food (corn + rice), vegetables (leafy greens, melons, and eggplants), meat (fish, shrimp, meat, soy products), cooking oil (peanut oil, olive oil).

  Dinner: Staple food (whole grains + refined grains), vegetables (leafy greens, melons, and eggplants), meat (fish, shrimp, meat, soy products), cooking oil (peanut oil, olive oil).
 


 

  Dietary Therapy for Elderly Diabetes

  1. Corn Tofu Pot

  150g corn kernels, tofu as needed, 30g kudzu root, a pinch of salt. Add the above ingredients to a clay pot and boil. Suitable for elderly diabetes patients of different types.

  2. Carp Tonic Soup

  1 carp, 30g astragalus, 30g Chinese yam, 15g raw rehmannia, 30g kudzu root, 12g salvia miltiorrhiza.

  Remove the internal organs of the carp, wash it, and cook it with the above herbs in water. Add an appropriate amount of salt and consume the soup and meat. It helps to nourish qi, strengthen the body, promote blood circulation, and lower blood sugar.

  3. Lingzhi Hawthorn Tea

  30g lingzhi, 15g hawthorn, green tea as needed. First, boil the lingzhi and hawthorn with water, then add green tea to brew and drink. It has the effects of invigorating qi, promoting blood circulation, and reducing blood sugar.
